Noradrenaline and serotonin are neurotransmitters that are found in the brain; they perform the act of transmitting messages from nerve cell to nerve cell and lightens the mood of a person. Afterwards they are absorbed again and can no longer lighten the mood, therefore the venlafaxine works to prohibit the reabsorbing of the neurotransmitters into the nerve cells to extend the lightened mood effect and thus aids in the treatment of depression that is associated with anxiety.
